Class Wear/ Footwear

Our studio does not have a particular dress code for all classes. Students are welcomed to come to class in dance clothes of their choice that they can move around and feel comfortable in. It is mandatory that hair is pulled back out of the face and loose jewelry is not on our students.

  • ACRO CLASSES: Loose clothing is prohibited during acro. This allows our acro teachers to properly spot our students.

  • BALLET CLASSES: It is MANDATORY for all ballet students to come to class prepared wearing pink ballet tights, a bodysuit and hair properly pinned in a bun. Dancers in the preschool program have an exception to come to class wearing any ballet attire (Tutus, Tiara's and Colours are encouraged!)

  • FOOTWEAR: ALL competitive tap classes are required to have a split sole leather Oxford tie up tap shoe. Advanced tap dancers are required to wear a full sole. Jazz/Lyrical classes may be required to wear jazz shoes, pirouettes or bare feet under the discretion of the teacher. Ballet Classes are required to wear canvas or leather ballet slippers- it is up to the dancers preference. Hip Hop classes require appropriate running shoes. Competitive Hip Hop classes will be given additional information about their footwear by their teacher for the stage. Acro, Conditioning, Technique, and Contemporary classes are all to be taken barefoot.

  • COMPETITIVE WEAR: All competitive dancers are required to wear their L.E.D competitive jacket on stage during awards. Danceworks spirit wear is always encouraged at competitions!

  • DANCEWORKS SPIRIT WEAR is available at the front office with Val. We sell: t-shirts, hoodies, zip-up sweaters, scrunchies, hats and so much more! Our spirit wear is available to everyone in our dance family! (Including Parents!)
